Solutions

Habitat Modification

  • Trim any branches they like to roost on.
  • Remove all available food and water resources.

  • Hazing the birds with water or loud noises may be effective for a limited period of time.
  • It is doubtful that a scare crow [pictured at right] would be effective.

Trapping

  • Can be effective provided someone isn't feeding the birds.

Legal Issues

  • Birds may be private property. You may need to find out who, if anyone, owns the bird(s) and discuss ways to resolve the problem. Otherwise, discussions with local animal control and health officials may be required.
