Solutions
Habitat Modification
- Removal of prey species, such as pocket gophers, ground squirrels and prairie dogs, can help mitigate badger damage.
Repellents
- None proven to be effective
Toxicants
Trapping
- Difficult to trap directly. Badgers are normally caught while trapping another animal unless you know where the den is.
- 1.5 coil springs
- 220 sized body-grip traps
Shooting
- .22 caliber or shotgun is effective.
